Expansion of the litigation & arbitration department: Dr Sebastian Schneider joins GLNS as a new partner

Dr Sebastian Schneider joined the dispute resolution department of GLNS on 1 September 2021. He previously worked in the corporate and litigation & arbitration practice groups of Latham & Watkins in Hamburg and in the litigation & arbitration practice group of DLA Piper in Munich for many years.

"Commercial disputes are constantly becoming more complex. Current developments such as the increasing involvement of litigation funders and the growing importance of collective redress measures have increased the requirements enormously. With personnel reinforcements, we create the basis for the further expansion of our dispute resolution practice, which has already developed very successfully in recent years. We are therefore very happy that Sebastian Schneider joins as a very experienced colleague for litigation & arbitration!" summarises GLNS partner Dr Philip Peitsmeyer. "GLNS has an excellent expertise in this area and I am glad to contribute my know-how to the further expansion," adds Dr Schneider.

Dr Schneider represents clients in litigation matters as well as in domestic and international arbitration matters to resolve complex disputes. He focuses in particular on corporate litigation matters (e.g. shareholder disputes, post-M&A disputes, joint venture disputes, shareholder resolution rescission and release proceedings and shareholder adequate compensation actions), complex commercial disputes (particularly in the automotive sector) and disputes in the areas of directors’ and officers’ liability as well as banking and capital markets law. Moreover, he has extensive experience with all forms of collective redress measures, including complex mass litigations.

Besides Dr Peitsmeyer and Dr Schneider the dispute resolution department of GLNS comprises one counsel and two associates.
