GLNS advised WEKA Group, a portfolio company of Paragon Partners, on the sale of frechverlag GmbH to Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe GmbH. Closing of the transaction occurred in October 2021.
Stuttgart-based frechverlag was founded in 1955 and currently employs around 80 people. With 800 available guidebooks and 200 new publications annually under the labels TOPP and BusseSeewald, frechverlag is Germany's leading publisher of creative guidebooks, children's creativity and do-it-yourself.
WEKA Group is a group of media companies and a leading provider of technical information, training and development programmes for B2B and B2C in the DACH region and France. WEKA Group's media-neutral content is delivered via digital, print and face-to-face formats and reaches highly diversified niche markets across all industries. WEKA Group is headquartered in Kissing, Germany and employs approximately 1,400 people.
