GLNS advises Delivery Hero in connection with acquisition of Talabat.com and Rocket Internet increasing its shareholding in Delivery Hero from 30% up to 39%.

Delivery Hero, the Berlin-based global leader of online and mobile food ordering – known in Germany under the brands Lieferheld and pizza.de – acquired the market leader in the Middle East Talabat.com. Talabat.com was recently acquired by Rocket Internet for approx. EUR150million. Through the contribution of Talabat.com to Delivery Hero and the acquisition of shares from existing Delivery Hero investors for EUR 52 million, Rocket Internet will increase its stake in Delivery Hero to approx. 39% (formerly 30%).

Talabat.com is active in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. The restaurant network consists of approx. 1,300 partner restaurants.

Delivery Hero offers through its platform access to 90,000 restaurants in 24 countries. Every month more than 12 million meals are delivered by them.

Delivery Hero’s shareholders include Team Europe, Kite, Phenomen, Tengelmann Ventures as well as Insight Ventures and Luxor Capital.

GLNS acted as the leading legal advisor of Delivery Hero on the transaction.
