GLNS advises PARAGON PARTNERS on the acquisition of WEKA group

GLNS advised PARAGON PARTNERS on the acquisition of all shares in the WEKA group from the heirs of the company founder Werner Mützel. WEKA, based in Kissing, Germany, is a leading provider of specialist information, which is distributed as print and online content and in seminars, for example for professional development. The regulatory and technical knowledge offered by WEKA covers specialized areas such as occupational safety, dangerous goods, law and taxes, and dentistry.

Founded in 1973, the media group has 1,500 employees and annual sales of about EUR 250 million. In addition to the German companies, the transaction also includes numerous other subsidiaries in France, Austria and Switzerland.

PARAGON PARTNERS, headquartered in Munich, is a leading private equity firm in Europe with more than EUR 1.2 billion in managed equity. The investment portfolio currently comprises 14 companies in the industrial, professional services, IP management and media analytics sectors, among others.

GLNS has comprehensively advised on the transaction with partners Ludger Schult (lead; Private Equity/M&A), Andreas Scheidle (Tax/Structuring), Tobias Nikoleyczik (Corporate/M&A), Reinhard Ege (Tax/Structuring), Anselm Lenhard (Finance) as well as Counsel Daniel Epe and Associate Eva-Maria Bayer (both Corporate/M&A).
