The private equity investor ECM Equity Capital Management GmbH has invested in the Berlin-based social media start-up Intermate Group. The transaction was carried out via the ECM-managed fund German Equity Partners V. The founders Alessandro De Pasquale, Jörn Mecher, Philip Papendieck, Sonja Wolff and Philipp Wolff continue to hold a significant stake in their company and will continue to act as managing partners.
The Intermate Group was founded in 2015 and consists of the social media agency Intermate Media GmbH and the production company Truemates GmbH. According to its own information, it is one of the leading agencies for social media and influencer marketing in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Intermate Group's clients include global brands from all industries, for example Volkswagen, Beiersdorf and Deichmann.
ECM is a private equity investor based in Frankfurt. Its funds invest primarily in leading medium-sized companies with growth potential.
